They are not safe to use as they go under the baby and add padding to the carseat.

ETA: They void your car seats warranty as it is an added item, not approved by the manufacturer.

an ad popped up but i think i know what your talking about, is it the car seat cover? i had one when my oldest was born, it was a god send during the winter, but i had to take it off in the car to strap the seat in, then put it back on before i pulled the seat out of the car. if you plan to use a base though, id invest in one. its better then having a blanket blow away with the wind.

I LOVE mine. It keeps him really warm and is so comfy and soft. He likes it too. My friends pedi recommended it because it allows you to dress the baby lighter in the fall, which keeps the carseat straps closer to the body, making it more safe I guess.

And if the car gets too warm or its warmer outside then we thought, instead of unstrapping him and getting him out of a fuzzy body suit, we just unzip the thing.

I had one when my kids were smaller. They were both newborns in the dead of winter and I loved it. Definitely makes it easier than tucking blankets on them or dressing an infant in a bulky snowsuit.

They are not safe to use in a car seat (in the car)but are great to use in the stroller. They are not crash testedfor use in a car seat, they add padding behind baby that can compress (like the bags you suck air out of) which puts slack in the harness then can eject your child. It also makes the harness bunch up a little which is not safe. It also voids your warretny on a car seat. So if you are in a crash the child gets hurt and its the car seats fult then the company will tell you that because you used this product they wont cover the child.

If you want something for the car seat you can use these (links below). They go around the outside of the car seat like a shower cap so they dont mess with the straps.

Its the same thing as using a snow suit which you should not use either

It's true, the best thing ot purchase would be a carseat poncho or a carseat cover. We purchased one for only $14 at Walmart for our little boy. So cheap and much easier to use, just pop it over like a shower cap!
