Scared to death =(

hello! Well im suppose to be due on Dec 14 but the doctor says hes going to take her thanksgiving week. When he told me this i was excited as ever! I have waited so long for her and now its not to far away, but when i got home that night it hit me. Wow thats only what 2-3weeks away and that scared me to death. I almost had a panick attack and im not sure why? I want her here soooo bad but why am i scared? I have no clue! So some encouragement would be really nice right now please. Thank you!

Im due the day before Thanksgiving and cant wait  
Why is your doctor inducing you so early?

These feelings are totally normal. I was induced three weeks eearly and even when they were doing my c section i was freaking out. Once she gets here it will change, i promise. I think all the fear comes from just knowing that your life is going to change forever, even though it is for the better there is nothing wrong with being scared.

He's taking her so early because shes small and not getting the nutrients she needs.

IUGR is a good reason and she'll have a better chance to grow outside than in, no worries tho this is the moment you've been waiting for! - holding your LO in your arms, I'll bet she'll make your heart just melt

Well thats a good reason to. I want the best for her. I just can't wait!!

This worries me because my baby has IUGR and my doctor hasn't talked about taking her early... Does it hurt to keep the baby in longer?

I'm not sure..i mean the baby will grow just not as much as it could when its out.

It depends on the severity of it. My ob noticed that my belly was consistently measuring 4 cm behind and so sent me for bio u/s and it showed that she was right on the line between IUGR and the lowest normal weight for that many weeks. We decided that because she was right on the line that it would be in her best interests to keep her in and monitor closely. When she was born at 38wks she was 7lbs 14 oz so it was a good thing we didn't take her early cuz she ended up having a growth spurt. Maybe your IUGR isn't too severe?

No it is... My daughter is barely in the 3rd percentile. She was actually losing weight for awhile. She started off being normally in the 25th percentile and slowly dropped down. I have a biophysical profile every two weeks. They think she is small because of my blood clotting disorder. I am going to ask my doctor what the plan is since we haven't really talked about it. I have a slew of problems ranging from my disorder to preterm deliveries so they may not be thinking about taking her because of that.

I would definitely ask about an early delivery then, I'm kinda suprised they haven't mentioned it to you yet.

Well they mentioned it when we found out she was losing weight but that was a little over three weeks ago... I think my doctor is sure that I will have her early anyways so that's why he hasn't mentioned it yet. I will definitely bring it up at my Wednesday appointment though. Thanks again  

Im due the same day as you, Dec 14th, but not getting induced.. I will be soo glad when week 37 comes so then I know he can come anytime with no problems!
