Hpv and breastfeeding

can hpv be passed to my baby through breastfeeding? im still not sure if i want to breastfeed but if theres even a slight chance then thats a deffinite no! no haters please.

hpv can be passed through skin to skin contact, so I am assuming she is going to get the virus no matter what you do.

No it can not. If it was going to be passed to the baby it would be passed during pregnancy or labor anyways.

HPV is not passed skin to skin...Sexually and vaginal birth yes...My doctor had no concern about breastfeeding or delivery..

its not.

i had HPV (human papilloma virus) but my body cleared it after my first pregnancy. it won't get passed through breastfeeding. i asked my doctor when i had my daughter if i could breastfeed and she said yes, it is safe.

It is passed via the mucous membranes.

I was told at the beginning of my pregnancy that the risk or giving HPV to your child is very very rare .99% chance of it happening.
My doc hasn't told me i can't breastfeed or to be careful and he knows i fully intend on breastfeeding and i've had HPV for the last 6 years.... He was my doc for my HPV stuff before i got pregnant! so i'm not worried!

I wouldn't worry yourself, ask your doc though!

I was under the impression that the warts virus (hpv) could be contacted through skin to skin contact. That is why like in public showers, if someone is barefoot and has warts on their foot, you can get warts from being barefoot too..warts are contagious.

I had hpv a couple years back and breastfeed my son. he is fine.
