Right now, my SO is the primary breadwinner. I have an online job that doesn't bring home too much and I am also a college student and full time mommy, so we both have a lot on our plate. But, I will be finished my courses soon and then I am going to work. My SO doesn't mind me being a SAHM but I hate just being in the house with nothing to do. The best part is, the job field I am getting into will allow me to bring my LO to the job, so it works out great for us all.

My husband doesnt want me working. Period the end. I do hate that he has to put in some long days. I do my best to have the house spotless and dinner coming out of the oven or on the table when he gets home.

He would rather me be home raising our children.

Daycare doesn't raise your child. Just so you know.........

We are almost in the same boat. We are considering me being the sole provider for a while because my income is much more than his and he would like to attend school.

Who else would be raising your children if you worked?

That's nice. So having said that, this poll doesn't really apply to you.

definitely green eggs and ham.. mmm..

but seriously, i don't work. hubby does. im willing to work but now that im expecting and have 2 kids at home, i think its easier if i just stay with my kids and do the house chores. i might get on disability since i had a major back surgery and it makes me unable to stand or sit for too long. i also have depression, anxiety and bi polar, so mentally handling a job is hard for me too.

My husband has two jobs by choice. A majority of the money from his second job is for him to spend on his truck.

I would work the second job if he wanted me to or if that's what was best for our family at the time. But if he WAS working 12 hour days then I would be at home taking care of my daughter and otherwise for 12 hours. Just the same as if I had a job and he was at home with our daughter the other half of the day, he would be working that time as well. (That was confusing lol, basically it would even out either way).

We are actually having this dilemma right now. I offered to look for a job so he didn't have to work a second and he said if that's what I really wanted then of course. But if he can find something better, for more money etc then he would prefer to take the second job himself. Whatever works, works.

My SO works 15 hr days 6 days a week and 4-8 hours on Sundays. He makes more in an hour then I'd make in a whole shift, it just makes sense. He loves his job though.

I didn't vote because I don't know which to choose. My SO works 10-12 hours a day, five days a week barely making ends meet. Right now, I'm finishing up my Bachelor's and very rarely work an odd Saturday at my retail job. When this semester ends (I graduate in December), I will work Saturdays and Sundays at the retail job until I start school next fall for my Master's. I WISH I could just stay home and have the option of possibly working weekends, but we can't do it. It's way too expensive where we live (Northern VA). So basically, I am going to work (simultaneously as I am getting my Master's), but I wish I could stay home. Maybe I'll vote the third option.

ETA: I voted for the 2nd option, lol

Day care during the day. I know they dont "raise" your children. But my husband doesnt want anyone but me or our family watching her. He watches her for me to go out once or twice a month to get a pedicure and to grab lunch with a friend.

He is finally out of retail. He quit in August. Now he works from home and makes damn good money.
