Induction..

At my doctor's appointment today I still am only a fingertip dialated, and my nurse said that if I make it to my next appt. November 9th,she wants to talk induction, she said it's totally up to me..and I kind of want to wait and have baby come on her own, but then again I could make the date and she could STILL come early..especially since on the 9th i'll be 2 weeks and 3 days overdue. But I REALLY want a natural birth, and from what I hearinduciton does NOT make that an easy process..Any thoughts?

My second induction was great!

I was induced and it went great. It was really fast.

I had to be induced for medical reasons with my son, everything went fine. It was long though and my epidural didnt work but the pain wasnt as bad as I had imagined. GL I'm sure your little one will come out soon.

Really? that brings me hope! haha I figure if I make it THAT far overdue induction might be the way to go, plus I could make it and still go into labor by myself...

Forget your plans of a natural birth if you choose induction. It's different for everybody and hopefully you are dilated enough, but I had a c-section because of it. The labor was awful, but probably because she was sunny side up. The pitocin just made my contractions come every 30 seconds it sucked.

I was induced and it went great. I was 11 days overdue. I was in labor for 23 hours which did make it a bit rough, but it's not like I had anything to compare it to, so I did great. I did get an epidural, but I had a walking epidural so it relieved the pain for some time but then I felt everything after a while.
Make whichever decision you feel is best for your baby and for yourself and good luck! Some people have horror stories about inductions, they freaked me out, but mine ended up progressing very well.

lol that's the story I hear more often then none, which scares me hah but 2 weeks overdue is not sounding very fun either hah

Lol PLUS I have strep b, so they'd be able to hook me up to antibiotics sooner lol

I had planned on all natural no meds or anything, induction completely took that option out. I was in labor for 23 hrs and 8 hrs after my water broke I think I'd dilated 3 cm I gave in got the epidural (contractions 1 min apart lasting 45 secs) and it was back labor ugh. I ended up with a csection because he wouldn't drop down far enough and had been too long since my water broke. Not everyones inductions suck but if you plan to go all natural you might really end up regretting it. I'm still having to deal with the fact nothing went as planned.

I was induced with pitocin with my first because my water broke and I didn't start contractions on my own... Long story short... 14 hours of hard labor later, I never dialated past a 6 and DD heart rate dropped to the low 30's... hence emergency c section.
