I went 11 days OD with my son before he was induced. I was only 1 cm and 50% and I thought my labor experience was wonderful. I delivered him with no complications whatsoever. I would be wary of going past 2 weeks OD, as your placenta begins to age and there is an increase of risks associated with that. I would set up the induction just in case, and just wait it out. A lot can happen in 10 days!

That's what I was afraid of too. My appt. SHOULD be on the 6th since that's a week after today..but the lady put down the 9th..I figured i'd call them later when maddie wakes up from her nap to ask if it's a huge deal or not.

My first induction sucked, second was awesome. They were at two different hospitals though with two different OBs.

it all depends on where you are as far as being ready. my first i was 2 cm and barely effaced. second, i was 4 cm and 60%

the first time, they started my pit full force and i put off the epi b/c i didn't want a needle in my back. the second time, they started the pit on the lowest dose possible and 2 hours into it i still wasn't in any pain. i got the epi 2 hours after it started b/c the anesthesiologist wouldn't be able to come in for 3 or 4 more hours. so i got it before the pain hit.

I was induced at 4 days overdue and from the time they induced me to the time that I had my daughter, it was like, maybe five hours. The contractions were awful, though, I tried SO hard to not get an epidural, but when I started hallucinating from how painful they were I decided that I HAD to. I'm really torn on whether I'd get another induction, though. On one hand, I'm GLAD that I got induced because my daughter had meconium and I am hoping to avoid that in a future pregnancy, but on the other, I REALLY want to go into labor naturally and not have to get an epi.

Today I was a fingertip dialated..I don't know how far effaced I am..but last friday I was 66% effaced..so i'm really not progressing well

I was barely 1 cm and not effaced when they induced me.

Same here, I badly want a natural birth, but going so far over scares me hah, and since I worry about EVERYthing, I figured I should start thinking about it now haha.

yeah they ended up giving me cervidil (sp?) to thin my cervix before they started pitocin within 2 hrs my water broke lol
