Bugaboo Takata Car Seat in the U.S??

posted 30th Oct
Does anyone know if they are ever planning on releasing the Bugaboo Takata Car seat in the U.S? Or any type of Bugaboo infant carrier/car seat for that matter(maybe Takata is just a European brand? idk)?? I've tried looking up information online but I keep getting conflicting reports, wasn't sure if there was anyone on here "in the know"??
Any information at all on this product would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance everyone!!

From what I have seen it's not released in the US yet. They have been having manufacturing issues with it.

Go on the Bugaboo website, choose any European country (Austria works!) click English and the Takata car seat comes up!

okay wait-i just clicked on the car seat(which is still featured on their main page) and there is a notice saying there are two problems with the Takata that are currently being solved, and they will communicate through the website when they will resume the product. So I guess there must have been some kind of recall or something..hmmm....I guess that is why there is a delay!

Thats what it looks like!  Oh well, I'm sure it would be ridiculously priced anyways. I once read it was like 179EU, but I have no idea what that is in U.S dollars...thanks for the info!

170 euros would be about 270 dollars, more or less. And yes, they are having manufacturing problems here, and Takata carseats are no longer on sale in Spain.

Honestly, I'd just go with a Maxi Cosi...

IF we have another, that's proabably what we are going with...since its the only one that adapts to all 5 of my strollers! Or we'll do the Graco thing again...cause I made the mistake [twice] with Peg Perego and will NEVER buy their carseat again...atleast till they fix all the inconveniences! Boo!

I don't think there is any 1 company that makes great carseats & strollers...LOL Graco & Britax both have nice carseats...SHITTY strollers! Peg Perego makes great strollers...SHITTY carseats! LOL

Thanks! I think the Maxi-Cosi is what I'm going to end up with, I've heard really great things about it. It should be adaptable to the Bugaboo Cameleon right?
I had a Peg Perego infant seat with my son..8 years ago. I swear it weighed 50lbs. It was so huge and clunky...I guess they haven't improved much in the past 8 years, LOL!

LOL, no they really haven't...except they now hold upto 30lbs! WHO would carry that around!? Kidding, at some point you just leave it in the car...

Anyways...Yes, the Cameleon has Maxi Cosi adapters...they are the same ones for the Frog model, the Bee adapters are different though! Looks awesome!

I had a Cameleon (still have it and #2 will be using it), and got a BeSafe Izi Sleep carseat:

You just have to buy the adapter thingies (similar to the ones .chele. showed you for the Maxi Cosi). It worked wonderfully well. I loved the carseat!

I was going for the same stroller and carseat myself, but then I found the Quinny Buzz 3 which is compatible with the Maxi Cosi carseats and adapters for a lot less than the bugaboo ones. People even said on various websites that they like them better. It looks identical to the one in the picture posted. Still waiting for mine to be delivered, but i'm satisfied with the compromise after playing with it in the store.

We have a couple Quinny's! The Buzz 3 & the Zapp. The Buzz is nice, congrats! What color did you get?! The seat is so plush and comfy...

Oh beware the hydraulic un-folding. My friend got her finger stuck, a trip to the ER was involved, luckily it wasn't broken but it was severely bruised! However, I haven't had any problems...but then again, I haven't used our Buzz in almost a year!
