what do you guys think?

I got this in an email from my best friend. A college friend of hers had written it as part of a paper for school. It really got me thinking, and I wanted to know what you ladies thought of it as well. Do you think theres any truth to it?


Alright, so after being confused at how two people could be in love with each other and that doesn't end up being enough, I started to think... alot. And after listening to people talk about their relationships and even more thinking. I came up with this. Trust me, I'm not trying to eHarmonize this stuff... but... I needed to share.

Love and connections come down to five levels:

Level 1- The type of connection where drunk calls tend to take place... but nothing else. You could also say this is where you at least realize that someone else is attractive.

Level 2- Physical connection... nothing else. No compatibility... you tend to just piss each other off or complain about each other to your friends and each other's friends.

Level 3- A mixture of physical attraction and compatibility. You get along, you have enough in common. There's no "magic" per se, but there's comfortability. This tends to be the relationship people have a very hard time getting out of... even if they know they want something else. Many people get married at level 3 and that's kinda sad because you're jipping yourself and someone else.

Level 4- The most tragic and menacing of all levels.There's magic. There's major physical attraction. There's compatibility, even if you have nothing in common. The problem is... you don't have enough in common. Maybe you're from a different background, have different core interests and beliefs and you're just not presently in the same place in life. Sometimes even though there is love, even though there is magic, forcing it because there are major feelings force those feelings to turn into anger. I firmly believe Level 4 is most responsible for ridiculous facebook statuses and numerous breakups and makeups. However, I do believe that a small percentage of these actually turn into number fives... simply because the two are stubborn enough and actually survive the hard times.

Level 5- Magic. Physical connection at it's peak. Compatibility at it's peak. Love. You're in the same place. You're ready for each other... or at least receptive to the idea of meeting and ending up with each other. Can't be forced because you don't have to force it.

The sad part is that most of the world settles at Level 3 and I've seen so many in small towns get married and hate their lives because they're only at Level 3

I think that's a REALLY good way to explain things.

That's super good. Level 3 seems very, very true.
Luckily, I do not consider myself a level 3...

I had a level 4 relationship that haunts me to this day lol.

Well, not no matter what, but we're really trying hard, haha.

I think I'm at level 3 and dont want to end up in an unhappy marriage..so reevaluating my relationship presently

I'm at a level 4. We have very little in common. His family drives me crazy. The way he thinks and some of his beliefs are mind boggling. But I love him, and I can't imagine waking up to anyone else. Ever.

I'm worried I am too :/ . I think its mainly because we havent had any alone time together in forever though. Its always parent duty, and than at night were way too tired to even think about anything but sleep.

i know, but i don't think i even want to fix it. I don't think it'll change, and i'm a optimist.

Sometimes I feel like that too, but than he does something super sweet, and we just have one of those moments.
He may be an asshole, but hes my asshole lol.

i know what you mean, but for me he is a asshole more than a sweetheart.
i hate it because when we argue or whatnot he thinks by doing something sweet everything is ok
