baby laying on one side

posted 29th Oct
my 10 week old REALLLY likes to lay on one side of her head, so much that one side is flatter than the other!
i try propping things behing her head so she turns the other way but no matter what she always ends up on the same freakin side!
is this normal and will her head stay like that?

They felt the flat spot and sent her to a head specialist for measurements. By the time your child is 4-5 months and still has one they like to get it checked at her pedi.

will her head stay like that or will it eventually even itself out?
i told the doc when we went to her 2mo checkup and he didnt seem to be conderned, but it is obvious that her head is a little flatter on her right side

Omg my 4week old likes to sleep on one side. No matter how many times we turn him he always ends up on that side. So now he has a flat side. I hope he doesn't end up needing a helmet.

maybe try laying her to sleep on her side? roll up two receiving blankets and put it on either side of her (make sure not next to the face though!) so that way she won't flip back over, or on to her tummy

It will be even once her 3 months is up   Its only been a month and I already see a HUGE improvement. Its common for a child to have a flat spot. In a few months if she still has it the pedi will notice

Oh gee.... She was really bad in the start but I still look at her head and keep wondering if it is flatter on one side.. lol She is a bit better now that she can hold her head up better. Its mostly when she sleeps, she leans to the right.
Knowing my doctor though He will say... OH she is fine.. its normal.. blah blah

my doc too...they are just too lazy to be bothered by it! i mean she has gotten better about the sleeping thing but its cause we force her to sleep on that side haha. its still a little flat on that one side and i just dont want it to be my fault that she has a flat spot lol!
