Quick cooking/preparation question

Got a question: Not too much of a cook, but trying to get better at it. So, we bought a big thing of 5 lbs of beef, and my husband froze it all, together, before separating it into 1 lb sections like I wanted him to. So, it is defrosting in the fridge right now. Question is: Is it ok to defrost it, section it out, then freeze it again until I need it? Didn't know if it might be bad to freeze, unfreeze, refreeze, and unfreeze, or if it would make it taste weird? Stupid question maybe, but just curious.

don't let it defrost all the way, take a knife and hammer and seperate it that way, the less bacteria has a chance to move in the better.

nope, once it's defrosted you have to use it.

once u freeze it u cant refreeze it

You could always make meatloaf with it. 

sometimes i take out meat from the freezer and we end up goin out so i put it back ion the freezer..its always cold tho

Yeah, you should never refreeze meat.

My husband has done this a couple of times before and we've just ended up cooking it and then freezing the cooked beef.
