If you have it done , what was the healing process like ?

How long was it swollen , red or crusty ?

How do you know its infected ?

Mine was never swollen or crusty, but it never got infected.

mine was swollen for a few days

Mine was only swollen for the first day or two. It got a little crusty every now and then. That's normal. Just keep an eye out for green puss..that's a no go, but if it does get infected, justcontinuouslyclean it. Don't take it out, because it can trap the infection inside.

hm. the swelling went down a day or two later. it was only red for a day. and it was crusty for like a month. just have to keep cleaning it.

for infections. my lip was 3 times it's normal size. but that could also be that he peirced it in the wrong spot.

If it's kind goopy/crusty & the goop/crust smells, it's infected. However, it's very common for piercings to let out a discharge as its healing. Mine was swollen for about a week.

i've had mine twice. the first time it was only numb/swollen for a day or two. you have to be careful for about a week after eating. should rinse mouth with mouthwash so it doesn't get infected. mine was never crusty/dry. you'll know when it's infected. it will get all red and start to hurt.

I got it!!! hurt like all hell lol. it didn't really stay swelled for long, and i sorta got a bit crusty but i think that was because I wasn't diluting the dettol lol. it took a few months for mine to heal compleatly

It will take up to6 weeks to heal.
It should only be swollen for about 3-4 days
It will stay red for about 3 weeks (just a small circle around the piercing)
It will "crust" for about 2-3 weeks.

You will know if it is infected because there will be a white/yellow puss coming from it. It will have a sharp sting throughout.

Whatever you do...do NOT put antibiotic cream, peroxide, or rubbing alcohol on it. These will cause your body to reject the metal.

I did mine mine self and it didn't swell and I cleaned it three times a day and ad no problems.

Make sure you are cleaning it with antibacterial soap, twisting it while you're cleaning it, not touching it too much (and when you do touch it, make sure your hands are clean) and make sure to rinse around it after smoking or eating.

My piercer told me it doesn't need to be twisted because when they pierce it, they should be using a longer post. Then when it's completely healed, it sticks out a little & you can change the post.
