Screaming during diaper changes

posted 29th Oct
Carter has his first cold, that started yesterday, last night and all day today EVERYTIME I try to lay him on his back to change his diaper he starts screaming and crying and violently rolling back over, heabsolutelyrefuses to lay on his back to get his diaper changed, do you think this could be bc of the cold? He's always rolled over when I try to change his diaper but he's never screamed like this, he is acting like something's hurting him.

Just give him something to play with to occupy him. My son does that every diaper change.

My son is like that all the time because he's hyperactive. I give him a book to look at lmao that's like the clique reading while shitting baby-version

Oh... geez... have you ever had a sinus infection? His sinuses probably hurt when he's like that, even though it's just a cold...

that's what I'm thinking, that it bothers him to lay on his back

Very very true.... brings a certain pressure to it.

Reminded me:
My friend actually has someone (usually hubby) hold her son up as she takes off diaper, quick wipe, and throughs the new diaper on for peepee diapers lol Just because it's quicker.... she'd do anything that's quicker, that one... lol

I waswonderingabout an ear infection, but he's not pulling on his ears at all and he hasn't had a fever.... I'm going to call the dr in the am and get his ears checked if this continues tomorrow morning. He's not on his back at any other time he sleeps on his belly so he just rolls over when I put him in his crib.

Ive actually heard that its not really true that most kids pull on their ears, because it hurts more to yank on them when they already hurt.

So went to the pedi today, and he is perfectly healthy other then a runny nose  so the pedi asked me to show him what he does when I lay him down, so I did and he flipped out.....screaming crying and rolling over with all of his might, and the pedi wasconfused, he said physically nothing is wrong with him but if it continues for 48 more hours to come back in, idk if he just has a bad temper? or maybe since he's been waking up at night bc of his cold, he knows that when he lays on his back he get's congested and can't breathe well so he refuses to lay on his back at all? Idk if something is really wrong or if I should be yelling at him and telling him NO when he tries to roll over, bc if it's just a behavior thing then I feel like I should be correcting it, anyone have any experience with this? ahhhh
