Teacher Called!

To tell me about Jacob's second day at preschool!

She said he was perfectly pleasurable with almost no problems at all! He engaged well in circle time, pretty much participated the whole time. He did "tackle" two other children, but she doesn't see it as tackling, he said he wanted to give them a hug, and since he's so big compared to the other children, he would run up to bear hug them, and down they'd go! So now she has an idea of just how aggressive he really is and she's going to give me some pamphlets and story books to work with him on at home as well as new ideas for school.

I told her that he did tell me what his name was and he said that he said bad words and had time out as well. She said, "Oh no we don't do time out here. There was a few times he threw himself on the floor, and we told him, ok we'll just wait for you to calm down." Hahaha, that's time out here, I told her that and she laughed. She said she thought she muttered a few cuss words or bad words, however, she chose to ignore him since he wasn't shouting them out and he stopped.

She said he's a pleasure to have in class, she's glad to hear that he's learning and bringing that home with him. She did have a weird question and that was, "do you notice he says sorry a lot?" and I laughed and said, we've been working with him that he may like to run and hit and throw himself down, that he may not be able to realize that he hurts, but other people do get hurt. So if you hit someone and they have a sad face you need to give them a hug and say your sorry. His teacher thought that was awesome that we taught him that and she's going to keep up on it at the school!
