big baby!

had an ultrasound today!   Baby is measuring right on track at 38 weeks.


his estimate weight is 8 lbs 6 oz!

now, i know that that just a guess! but wow! that's a big baby already, and he still has two weeks to go!

anybody else have an estimate 8 pounder around 38 weeks?

they estimated my baby to be 6-7lbs and she was 8lbs 4oz born at exactly 37 weeks

edit: she was 21.5in

I didn't even get an estimation but I had a 8 lb, 11.7oz and 22" baby I had to have a c-section

Mydaughter was only 5lbs and I had her at 39weeks.

Yes. My doctor mentioned I would "probably have to have a c-section because he is so big."My"big" baby was 8 lbs. and 22" at birth.

They estimated my son to be 9lbs, give or take.
He was only 7lbs 10oz. Born at 39 weeks.

At 34 weeks my baby was measuring 6lbs, so I figured that was pretty big considering there was still 6 weeks left and they grow like crazy in the last month.
Both me and my fiance were big babies.

My doctor estimated that my baby was 8lbs 5oz when I was 40 weeks. I went into labour a few hours after my checkup and ended up giving birth to a 9lb 1oz baby boy! My doctor was surprised he was that big.
My daughter was only 7lbs 2oz and my doctor thought she would be over 8lbs.

Really, it's just an estimate so it's quite possible your baby isn't quite that big yet.

my baby boy at my 32week apt. was 5.5 lbs lol i had him at 36weeks he came early.. he was almost 7lbs they said if i carried him till tearm he would have been 10lbsor more which is hard to belive for the size of me im 5ft5 an like a size 0

i was only 6 lbs 7 oz! and my SO was like 7 lbs and some odd ounces!
so i don't know where this chunky monkey is coming from. lol.  

their estimation with my first son changed a few times, but in the end both of my boys were supposed to be "big." neither of them were.

mychael was 8lb 3.5oz@ 19.5"
carmen was 7lb 6oz@ 19.5"

So how does it work exactly? Like, my doctor said I was measuring 3 weeks ahead so she sent me for another u/s. At the u/s I was measuring EXACTLY on date. They didn't give me a weight or anything, but what does that mean - that I'm on date? Does it mean I should have an average sized baby or what?

maybe you wont be like one of my aunts lol she had 3 boys and all 3 way 10 lbs 11oz
