Preemie or Newborn ?

Was your hospital/going-home outfit preemie or newborn sized?

I know a lot of people have said that they put their 7-8lb. baby in a newborn outfit for coming home in...and the baby practically drowned in it, so I was wondering if I should get a preemie outfit & newborn outfit for coming home in....or just stick with newborn.  

Her outfit was newborn, but she coudn't fit into it.

She's 2 months now and JUST starting to barely fit into Newborn clothes.

Mine is preemie, only because my baby is for sure going to be small... But I would normally have brought a newborn outfit.

I put her in a newborn outfit and it was massive on her, I wish I'd gotten a preemie outfit for her. She was 6lbs 10oz.

My baby came home in a newborn, but it was wayy too tight. Pack an outfit of each Premie, Newborn, and 0-3 to prevent fitting problems.

I have a preemie and she is now (FINALLY) 6lbs and has outgrown almost all her preemie clothes. The newborns are still a little loose on her, but fit her much better now. Preemie sizes are for babies up to 5lbs.

Grab two outfits.. one premie and one newborn.. whichever one your LO doesnt wear, take it back for a refund!

How do you know if your baby is going to be small or not? When he measures with the tape measure thing...? lol or what?

I wondered that too, my baby was 7lb11oz... 19 and 1/2 inches long which isn't that long, but she was too long for preemie outfits. she does practically drown in newborn but we have no choice cuz preemie is just sooo short!

depends on the baby... my 1st son was 6 lbs and we had to go buy a bunch of premie because nothing fit but my 2nd was 8 lbs and newborn barely fit for a week

My baby came home in a newborn but he really needed a 0-3 every brand runs differently size wise so it is really hard to say. I would buy one of each if i were you.

Alyson was born 5lbs 9oz. When we went home she was 5lbs 4oz. I took her home in a preemie, and that swallowed her whole. But I had a newborn outfit packed too just incase.

My son came home in Newborn and it was big on him. Didn't swallow him or hang off of him but it was definitely roomy.

He was 8 lbs 4 oz, 21.5 inches long, head and chest 15 inches.

He was in newborn for about 6 weeks which is when he moved to 0-3 months.

my 7lbs 11oz 20 inch long babies were swallowed by newborn stuff. with my second I got her a preemie outfit to come home in..newborns didn't fit for about 2 weeks
