babies are going to almost always be swallowed by newborn outfits...but PREEMIES will most likely NOT FIT.

my daughter was born full term, and was 4 lbs. she was the normal lenth just skinny, so preemies did not fit cuz she was too long

you have to think about their height before wasting money on preemie outfits

i brought a newborn and preemie outfit. she needed the preemie, even though she wasnt that small. she was just very petite. she ended up in preemie clothes for a few weeks.

My daughter was 9lbs when she was born and she went home in a newborn outfit. And honestly? It was a bit loose on her.

I would definately bring a preemie and a newborn. I just bring my kids home in comfy sleepers, so I pack one of each size! My dd was overdue and newborn was still big

My son was 7lbs 11oz 19in long, and his inside outfit was newborn I think, but the snowsuit I had for going in the car with (it was January) said newborn to 6 months I think??? -well, Newborn my foot! He Was Drowning in it sooo bad! We had to wrap him in everything else -blankets and everything because the stupid thing was huge. Stupid me for not thinking of it right? but hey -I was a first time mommy with no siblings -I had No clue LOL -this time around, I'm going to probably bring a Preemie outfit just in case, as well as a Newborn one.
I had the worst trouble with the snowsuit though, and as far as his onesie and whatnot it fit fine -they grow into it... I'd say don't spend the money on the preemie stuff unless you're expecting a really tiny baby, because they grow out of it in a few days/weeks anyway... ~KP

my son weighed 9.3 when he was born and came home in a 0-3 month outfit.. it was a little bit, but my doctor told me that I was having a bigger baby, so I came prepared

I would just bring one of each. We tried a preemie outfit on Emma for her hospital pictures, & it was over an inch too short! So we put a newborn outfit on her, & that's what she's been wearing since.

With my 1st daughter we brought her home in a NB outfit. She weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces & was 20 1/4" long. I asked my dr if I could be induced since Im a short person & my belly as HUGE..ALL BABY (im only 5'2)..and my hubby & I just knew shed be a bigger baby (my twin sister's son was 7 pounds & 6 ounces & she went 12 days overdue before being induced!!). This pregnancy however, since my girls will be 11 months & 3 weeks apart exactly, we're going to bring a NB and a 0-3 months outfits to take her home in since its hard to tell how big this one will be since everythings already been stretched out. Even though Im way bigger now than what I was w/ my 1st daughter.

Like a lot of other mommies have said, just bring an outfit from each size....

Pictures of me w/ each pregnancy.... I didnt get stretchmarks w/ Liz til around 34-36 weeks... now Im getting stretchmarks on top of stretchmarks!
