i want to use cloth diapers for my baby, i heard smartipants are the best???

I've wanted to try using cloth diapers even though my mother said it's a no no, so have you ever used disposable when the kids at daycare, or getting babysat?

im a stay at home mom so the only time i used disposables is if we go to spend the weekend with my family (they live about 2 hours away) its just easier than bringing along his dipes and having to wash them there (you have to use a certian kind of detergent)
but i know some moms that have kids in daycare and SOME daycares will allow cloth others dont

Ahh,both of the kids grandmothers don't want anything to do with cloth diapes :/
& I like that their reusable & good for the earth..

my parents are skeptical because obviously cloth diapers arent the same anymore as they were 20 years ago. but my dad tried to get my grandma on his side the other day and she took my side lol

I don't have a washer and dryer so it would be too annoying to use them.

most cloth diapering moms dont dry their diapers in the dryer, they use line dry which helps get any stains out (with the sun) and helps diapers last longer.
and depending on what type of diaper you get you could always hand wash and soak

I wouldn't be able to hang out a line either to dry because I live in an apartment we have a balcony but it says we can't hang clothes out there   I know cloth diapers would be the best because my daughter gets diaper rash all the time, the littlest amount of time in a wet diaper and she gets a rash it's insane.

Thats why we switched to cloth!!! Oh and because they save money! If you want to hang them to dry, just hang them in a window. Thats what I do on cold days or rainy. Just pull the blinds up and hang them on a hanger! they will still get sun!!

Yea ring them out really good, then hang them up! The sun does wonders with stains!!!

How many cloth diapers does someone need to buy?

eh I probably not the best to ask on that one! I wash diapers everyday. I use pockets and AIOs. I have for my two in diapers: 2 large AIO (for my son), 2 medium pockets (for my son), 5 large pockets (for my son) and 15 one size pockets. so a total of 24 diapers between my two kids. And I never run out of clean diapers. But then I know alot of people have alotttt more, esp if you get addicted to buying them. Oh and I have some prefolds and fitteds with covers for backups, but I don't like fitteds/prefolds with covers, just not my thing!
