depo

as many of you know, i lost koen nearly 2 years ago. since march of '08 ive been on depo. i was wondering if any of you had troubles with it as far as not being able to have babies again. im 17 and dont want another right now but i dont wanna kill my chances of ever getting pregnant again. should i think about getting off of it for a while. im not having sex, so there is no real reason for it other than i have no period which is AMAZINGLY nice. i just dont know if i should stay on it or get off of it for a while... just wanting some opinions

if you don't think you need it, i wouldn't stay on it. I plan on getting off of it and switching to something else after I am done BFing.

If you don't need it and don't plan to have sex anytime soon in the future then I would get off it. I'm biased those because I hated depo and whether it works perfect to not it can be harsh on your body. I would rather invest in some non-expired condoms to keep on hand.

I got off depo and got pregnant 5-6 months later if that helps.

it doesnt affect my mood or anything that i can tell. its as if nothing is there.

I got pregnant on Depo and my depo baby is now almost 3 months old. It affects everyone differently, but if you like not having periods. (I LOVED that) then I don't see why you wouldn't stay on it. It can delay fertility, but I don't think it will hurt it forever.

ya. ill have to talk to my mom and doctor about it. see what my personal risks are.
