Thrush?

My son has thrush and he is breastfeed it has been a battle! I was wondering if all mothers who breastfeed a baby with thrush will get thrush? My nipples are not sore or irritated but I wonder if I have it?

When I got it and breastfed the nurses told me to try genatian violet. You rub it on your nipples so it helps your nipples and the baby feeds and it helps them too, completely natural, worked great for us, but it is purple so the baby and my boobs were purple for awhile. lol

If he has, you most likely do. Not all mother's deal with thrush, but a lot do. Have you taken your son to see a doc?

No the doc called in nystatin but its not working! Im going to take him in but Im waiting to see if it will work

Get Gentian Violet! It'll help a ton!

Keep using it, thrush usually takes a while to get rid of. You need to start treating yourself, too.

There is this old saying that if you find a man that does not know the baby'sfather and has never seen him and he blows in your childs mouth three times the baby will be cured of thrush and never have it again.

I actually tried it with my son, and it worked.
I dont know if its just a freaky odd kinda thing.
or a big coincidense.

But, I really wouldn't suggest that right now with all this swineflu going around.


But, you wasn't asking how to cure it.
I just thought it would be interesting to share. :]

Wal-Mart usually has it behind the pharmacy counter, you have to ask for it. IDK how much it is.

I got mine from Walgreens and a bottle (that will last an eternity) was like 3 bucks.
