Refrigerating Breastmilk then Freezing?

Is it okay to do this? I've had a pumped bottle in the fridge for 8 days (which is the maximum recommended) and go back to work tomorrow. I was thinking to freeze it overnight but I've never done from fridge to freezerso it makes me nervous. Thoughts?

I wouldn't leave a bottle of boob milk in the fridge for that long personally.. D:

Freezing it when it's fresh is good though. I wouldn't now.. but that's jmo.

I know that you're supposed to freeze it, unthaw it and then freeze it again... but I don't know the answer to your question. I can call my mom real quick. She's a nurse, she will know.

I wouldn't. I was told its only good in the fridge from 5-7 days anyway. Let him drink it tonight

Normally I don't but I've been off work since last Wednesday and been EBF. I've used it around 5-6 days before and he's been fine.

8 days is really pushing the limit.

I know it's hard, but just toss it. No point taking unnecessary risks just to save a week-old bottle of milk, you know?

I hear ya. But since I only have one other bottle in the fridge and three 4 oz bags total as back up, I thought it's worth asking.

I have froze it after 2 or 3 days in the fridge, but never 8..... I would dump it just ot be safe...
