Hate my tummy...tips on losing pp weight?

posted 28th Oct
Ok so I'm a tiny bit over 3 weeks pp and I HATE my tummy. I'd be happy if it weren't for the tummy. I've never been insecure about my body before...but mainly cause I've always been 100 pounds with a flat stomach. Now i have no clue how much I weigh since I don't own a scale...and my stomach is far from flat. I porb look 5 months pregnant. My husband tells me he thinks I'm beautiful and loves how I look and wouldn't mind if I didn't go back to how I was before, or lost anyweight. But I know he's just saying it to make me feel better. Even if he really did mean it...I want to lose weight for ME. So I am going to start running...I think it's ok to now since I've already been having sex with no issues.
I'd like some tips from people about losing pp weight...did you go on any diets? I only eat about 1 meal a day and don't drink any sodas or anything just water. But I'm wondering what are some good work outs you did for the tummy besides running...I'm willing to do it! lol
It's funny even thought i hate how I look, I told my husband last night...I'd do it all over agian just for my lil man. He was well worth it.

Uhhhhhhhm, you're only 3 weeks PP. It takes time. & You only eat 1 meal a day? Thats horrible. Your body is most likely in starvation mode already. & Trust me, its very hard to get out of it.

You need to wait for your doctor to give you the 'ok' to have sex or exercise... Your body still needs to heal! And plus, you're only 3 weeks PP. It will take a while, just concentrate on your LO for the next 3 weeks until your doctor tells you it's ok to have sex and exercise.

Alright !!! Just my friend makes me feel so bad about it. After a week she fit in her old clothes and she tells me all the time I was giving in to the American idea that pregnant people are supposed to be huge. I pretty much can't stand her right now...always making comments on my tummy then saying she's just a sarcastic person.

If you're only eating ONE MEAL a day. then yes, its more than likely in starvation mode. How many calories do you consume a day?

breastfeeding is the best and fastest way to get rid of PP weight, but if you onlyeat one large meal a day, that's not going to provide your body with enough nutrients to maintain a sufficient milk supply. Plus eating like that is going to work against you in weight loss. You need to eat smaller meals more frequently. It's good that you dont drink any sodas, stick with lots of water. Crunches and running will help too, but you need to WAIT UNTIL YOUR DOCTOR GIVES YOU THE OKAY. Doing excersice before he okay's it can provevery dangerous. You can start eccessive bleeding or you can injure your uterus. There is a reason they tell you to wait for intercourse and excersice until 6 weeks PP, it's not just for the hell of it. It'sfor your safety.

Eating your one big meal a day at DINNERTIME isn't going to help with your weight loss.

If you ate more you would lose more. Your metabolism will slow way down eating one meal. Not healthy.
6 small meals a day is the key, and lots of water

I didn't say you were starving, you wont know. Your BODY is most likely in starvation mode. Which means you're not going to burn any calories because you're not even taking in enough to keep your body running. So your body thinks its starving, & stops burning any calories, & hangs on to the tiny bit of calories you DO eat.

I was breastfeeding for the first 2 weeks but then I started getting really bad headaches and such...I have a pituitary tumor so I was told to stop. Otherwise I would have kept right up with it.

Yeah and that's what my dad was saying 6 small meals. He suggested only eating fruits and veggies and some meat here and there.

having a pituitary tumor may have some thing to do with it. your thyroid and pituitary gland control many thing and one of the things is metabolism. if it is not working or working properly then it could cause you to gain weight or just plateau. i would get tested and also test your thyroid since they work together
