Spit up

posted 28th Oct
Okay, this is really a mommy vs. daddy war. Haha.

Anyways, today is Kaitlynne's 6 month Drs appointment and I am wanting to talk to the doctor about Kaitlynne's spit up. We will give her a bottle and even an hour or two since she had the bottle, she is spitting up a whole lot *I mean not enough to make her go hungry or anything but just enough for me to be concered*... Alan says it is because we don't burp her enough. Bullshit! I can burp her, he can burp her, and she burps enough after drinking her bottle to make her hungry for more lol. I think I need to talk to the doctor and Alan thinks I am overreacting. What do you ladies think and what would be other reasons of her spitting up so much??

she could be lactose sensitive or have reflux. my LO spit up until about 8 months HOURS after she had a bottle no matter how much i burped her. her tummy muscles werent strong enough yet to keep it from coming back up. i make her to sit ups now hahaha. i lay her down then hold her legs so she uses her tummy muscles to sit.

also, the drs said my LO was allergic to the lactose, we switched to soy, and she still spit up. so she had reflux. it's usually gone by a year. a year and a half at the latest.

Hunter is 7 months and heis what my Pedi called a "spit up baby" he said he did not have reflux or anything else since it wasn't projectile. He told me he would grow out of it and he has gotten a lot better as he gets older.

My LO spits up all the time no matter how much he burps. He has AR and we have to give him cereal (and I also use enfamil AR sometimes) to help.
It helps sometimes. He also gets tons of that tummy med - mylicon or whatever.

Even if it is nothing, it's not going to hurt to talk to the doctor. Wouldn't you feel better to ask the doctor, and him tell you it's normal, than to not ask him and find out she has a condition later down the road?
My daughter never burped when I tried burping her. She has acid reflux an we have to give her Enfamil AR. It's gotten better with time, but she still spits up.

Nope. She was just like, "You're feeding her to much..." Then at the end of the appointment she tells us how much we should be feeding her... Sad part was, what she told us was how much we have been feeding her.

Quoting Kristy Mommy to Hunter:“ Over feeding her by how much?”

We give her about 4 bottles a day and a jar of baby food. The doctor told us we were over feeding her *And she maybe finshes one bottle all of the way? And leaves about 2 or 3 ounces left in the others* and then she tells us toward the end of the appointment, she tells us about how much we need to feed her... Which was what we have been feeding her.

They are 8 ounce bottles but we usually only fill them up to about 6 or 7 ounces.
