how to know if your in labor !!!???

So this might sound dumb but i'm really nervous i won't know that i'm going into labor when i am. my cousin just told me the other day how she felt fine just a little crampy and then when she went to her doc apt that day they were like omg ur in labor! then my SO's mom told me how she just had a tiny bit of spotting (no pain) then went in and she was in labor!! so i am just worried i won't know and will like have my baby on my bathroom floor or something.....
how did you guys know you were in labor? i mean i know about contractions but what did they feel like and any other advice about this?!

They were probably in very early labor.
You cannot POSSIBLY transition without having some inkling of the fact you're in labor.

The keeling over in pain.
I went into a doctor appointment and was 0 cm. And the next one 6 days later I was 3 cm and almost in active labor. I didnt feel much besides pains in my inner thighs until she broke my water at 4 cm.

i started spotting and didn't think anything of it then a few hours later i went pee again and there was a little more so i called the hospital and they said it was probably nothing and so i wait. i started getting like a cramping/burning in my thighs so i took a 2 hour bath to see if it would go away and it didn't so we went to the hospital and sure enough i was 4cm in labor

Ok thanks. i guess bc i am getting so close and it's something i've never experienced so i just don't know what to expect....and then they told me that & i was like whatttt?

Its funny my doctor said at my last appoinment "If you are in labor just come in , don't bother calling. If you have to call and ask if you are in labor. You're probably not in labor."

I had back labor...started out as cramps, but feeling like my hips and tailbone were trying to explode with each contraction was a dead give away.

I had the same thought!! Trust me... you will know when you are in labor... for me my contractions were just like cramps... but then again had my baby girl with no drugs at all, the only reason I knew I was in labor is because my water broke.
