depending on why he bit I'd get rid of it we have kids in the house and if the dog is going to bite me for a not good reason I would worry about him snapping at the kids

Get rid of them.
If they bite once, they are liable to bite again. I'd rather just avoid the whole mess.
I know my statement won't apply to all dogs but I am entitled to it. And you did ask.

to be honest i'd call animal control... you never know who else the dog could bite

Well....My dad was bringing the German Shorthairs inside (they are sport dogs, and highly trained ones) The craziest one of them all (Bean) slipped out of his leash, And when My dad grabbed his collar the dog bit him on the arm once, and then let go and did it again. And if he hadn't let go he would've drawn blood. He used to train police dogs to bite and he knows he wasn't just doing a "leave me alone bite"
He might go shoot him.

Oh no they wont have the dog adopted... its most likely that they will keep the dog for a certian amount of time and give him back or put him or her to sleep.

I had a friend who had ben bit by a dog, the dog had previously bit someone so i believe he was put to sleep.

Depending on the situation I would have no choice but to take the dog the the animal shelter, in this country healthy dogs dont get put down so even if the dog is unable to be rehoused it would still be looked after at the shelter it would just have to have a muzzle.. If there was a reason for the dog to bite injury for instance then I may keep the dog but I would have to keep it away from my children until I was posetive it was not going to happen again, not sure that could ever happen though...

If you give your dog away and it bites the people that adopted him, they can turn around and sue you. Its your job to either put the dog or train the dog.
