I am in the middlestages of becoming a surrogate for a wonderful woman and her family. To keep a long story short, she has miscarried endless numbers of children when she hit 13 weeks. Anyway, we have reached the part were we talk about... drumroll please... money. She wants to know what I want from her financially. Well, I don't know. I never really thought much of it, I figures she'd tell me to be honest. lol. Well, my boyfriend is asking me what I asked for from her wallet, because we are looking into moving into a house in the next few months if we can gather up enough money from under the couch cushions to afford a downpayment. Anyway... What is a reasonable amount to ask for?

I've heard surrogates get like $20,000 in some cases..

and all pregnancy related expenses paid for..

Or you can just get enough for a down payment and then however much your rent will be for that 10 months

And bless your heart for giving a family everything they dreamed of!

wow, that is kind of a hard decision. Maybe you should do some research on it or find women that have actually gone through the process. You would'nt want to under charge or over charge.

  be sure to go through something to make it legal, you would not want to get screwed out of anything.

Surrogate Mother Compensation - Starting at $24,000
Experienced surrogate fee range between $32,000 up to $37,000
Payment will begin at the confirmation of fetal heartbeat. Paid to Surrogate at $2,400 per month until delivery with the balance due within 7 days of delivery of your baby.

Surrogate Monthly Misc. Expense - $2,400
Paid to surrogate at the rate of $200 per month. This monthly allowance is for any miscellaneous expenses related to the surrogate arrangement and is intended to cover local (in county) mileage, parking, meals, childcare for medical appointments, postage, faxing, phone calls and over the counter vitamins or supplements. This fee will begin as soon as the surrogate signs her legal contract and will continue until written termination of agreement by either party or after delivery.

Surrogate Support Group Attendance - $1,200
Paid ($100. per month) to your surrogate for her attendance in mandatory support group meetings. Support group fee will be established when she signs her legal contract and will continue for the duration of the agreement.

Embryo Transfer Fee - $1,000
Paid to surrogate and is intended to reimburse her for any lost wages, childcare or housekeeping as a result of bed rest due to the embryo transfer. Paid $500. at the start of injections, $500. Day of embryo transfer.

Maternity Clothing Allowance - $1,000
This one time fee is to cover maternity clothing needed for surrogate. Usually paid at the beginning of the second trimester (13-16) weeks.
Cesarean Section Fee - $2,500
This fee is to compensate for additional discomfort and recovery time required with Doctor recommended C-Section

Yeah, I've heard $20 frequently especially when the surrogate is young like I am (21).. but really, I could never, ever ask that of someone. My boyfriend says to ask for as much as I can, because he is a man and doesn't really understand the point of doing this for someone...

wow , 5,000 does not seem like enough lol. if your not wanting to charge an extreme amount maybe do like 12,000.
