Crib question?

Are the conversion cribs (the one's that eventually can be changed into a toddler bed, day bed, full size bed..) worth buying? Are they just as safe?

i think it's so worth it. my sons one month and he's been in his all of 3 min.... so

thanks   i think we're going to try one! i just hope it's as safe as a conventional crib.
