Hey, I have a 9 mo old son and am due with my second end of March '10. My mother in law bought us the crib we're using now, but I HATE it -I saw the pictures and it was ok so I said sure she could buy it, Now, I'm stuck with a cheap wobbly dropside crib that I absolutely abhor, so I am selling everything I can think of to see if we can buy Two New Cribs in a Cherry color (the one we have now is natural)
I am looking for advice on Cribs and Brands.
I read a Lot of reviews on beautiful Looking cribs that are very poorly made or scratch really easily. I'm trying to find IS THERE REALLY A CRIB that does NOT scratch SUPER EASILY?!? If anyone knows anything about these particular cribs, or has experience with the brand I'd really appreciate the input.
I have a few in particular that I am looking at: (all in cherry color and Convertable to full size bed someday)
Storkcraft: Meaghan
Storkcraft: Monique
Da Vinci: Rivington
I have a black storkcraft and the model is Lauren and I love it. It's gorgeous... we had no problem setting it up and it isn't wobbly and has no scratches in the few months I've been using it (And I have a 2 year old who attacks/jumps onto it all the time.)
Quoting Half Pint's Mommy:“ if you wanted to save money maybe you could try staining or painting the one you have???”
That would be a good idea -but I hate the entire design, and the thing is wobbly and the dropside is just a pain. I'm Definately not getting another dropside if I am able to get another crib -thanks for the suggestion though, that's a great idea!
umm, instead of individually quoting all of you -I'll just say thanks guys, I'm looking on Target, and Thank you Much much Momma Prime for the info about your crib! -Going to look at Target's website now....
Ok, UPDATE: I need some pretty picky people to comment with their experiences with cribs. Is there anyone out there who knows of a crib that does not scratch easily. I don't want a dropside, I just want a sturdy, stays where I put it and won't budge Crib that will make a pretty daybed and will someday be a full bed when they're older. I hear lots of bad reviews about the wood being soft and scratches easily and the kid chewing it up so bad that you would never want to actually use it as an adult's bed. If there's anyone who knows of a good brand or specific crib that doesn't scratch so easily, I'm All ears!
Thanks, for those who've commented -I've looked at Target and Wal-mart and found some Really pretty cribs that I loved -but the reviews say they scratch easily -thus -my current and ongoing dilemma. thanks to all for the posts; ~KP
