My husband is in the navy.
He called me today and asked me what I thought about him going IA...
(leaving to a foreign country for a yr +).
I told him to do what he feels is best for him and our family.
He came home and told me he volunteered to go to Guantanamo Bay (sp?) for a year.
He was the first the volunteer and the first to pick Guan bay...

If he gets picked, its a 99.9% chance, he leaves january 4th. For a year.
Booo.

I know what your going through. My bf did basically the same thing bu signed up to go to Afganhistan for a year and he leavesjanuary 2nd.

i cant be mad, its what i married into!

It will be okay momma. i know it's not the same but it was really hard for me when my brother was over in Afghanistan for almost a year.

Sounds like he got a really good assignment. Im sure it will help your family out, no matter how bad it sucks

i live in boston now, but my husband is IRR, and just got attached to a new unit to deploy

  Sorry momma it always sucks saying "see ya later" ugh. Mine is just wrapping up his 2nd tour to Iraq (army) he'll be home within a couple months. It really does fly by just stay busy!
