Not so sure anymore

Before I found out I was pregnant I had a really wierd dream that I was living with my grandparents (I didn't even live in the same state as them) and had a toddler, who I called Isabella in my dream, who kept getting into everything. Well, strangely enough...I am pregnant (25 weeks) & have recently moved in with my grandparents. I don't find out if it's a boy or girl until Monday, but I've been hoping for a girl. I decided when I found out at 14 weeks that I would name her Isabella Grace, but the more I hear my family say the name...the less I like it. I'm just worried because of how uncommon it is. I've never known anybody named Isabella (part of why I liked it at first) and I'm unsure of how it would be groing up with that name. It's pretty long & there's really n o cute way to shorten it...my mom always calls the baby Izzy but I don't really like that. Lately I've been thinking of Madison Elizabeth or if it's a boy Landen Shayne or Braden Michael. What do you guys think of the 4 names, or any other suggestions?

Belle is a nice way to shorten it - like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I'm thinking about naming my daughter Shoshana Rose, but I worry about the same things, since it's such a rare name. I'm not sure if my husband's sold on it, but he hasn't come up with any other suggestions yet. I know I couldn't name her something common, though. My sisters are Rebecca, Rachel, and Sarah, and they always ran into people with the same name. Mine, Ruth, is much less common, and I never had a problem with it. Having a rare name makes it cooler when you do meet somebody with the same name.

Isabella isn't that uncommon anymore. My friend had a baby last november, and her middle name is Grace too. I think you will be safe with that name if you aren't wanting a unique one.

I also have a friend with a girl named Isabella. The fathers family calls her Izzy and my friend HATES that, but she still LOVES the name Isabella and they call her Belle or Bella or even Bell Bell Its a beautiful name, in fact I wanted to name my first child that, but my friend beat me to it

Isabella Grace is beutiful, and not too uncommon. its one of those names that is not common, but not wierd at the same time y'know? and u can call her Bella for short ,which means beautiful! i love it! i like names that are different but not weird. like,my 3 yr old is Trevor Warren, and i want to name this one Tessa Renee if a girl and Jared Michael if a boy(daddy is Michael).

It isn't super rare anymore. Personally I like plain Isabelle better. Very Perisian, but you will be stuck with Izzy unless you tell them right now NO back off it's ISABELLA or BELLE/A and they ought to stop if they know what's good for them.

I think if you do have a girl that you should definatly name her Isabella Grace I think that is beautiful. Bella could be the short for it as well as Belle. I too think that it's weird to hear family calling the baby Gavin but I think that is because the baby isn't here yet and it's hard to picture what he will look like. I have wanted to name my son Gavin for years and thats what it will be.

My daughters name (she's 2) is Isabella. It was never popular before but now a bunch of celebs have named their kids that and it now ranks on a most popular baby name poll for 2006. the key is to establish the nickname (or lack of) you like as soon as possible. We call her Bella but hate Izzy so if people know we shorten it to bella sometimes that is the name they use. Hope you decide to use it. We get daily compliments on how beautiful it is (and it means beautiful in Italian)

I think Isabella Grace is a beautiful name, as would be Bella for short. I think your dream means alot. Expecially with the way the events have turned out. Go with your gut. When I was pg with my son, the name Aaron stuck in my head. I considered numerous other names but kept coming back to that one for no particular reaason except it felt right. I knew I would regret not naming him Aaron so I did. I also like the name Braden Michael for a boy. Good luck in your decision.

I think Isabella Grace is absolutely gorgeous!!
And Bella for short is beautiful too...
and as Kam said, your dreams are important, and do mean alot... I'd say go with your felings though, wait and she how you feel when he\she is born!!
I also really like your boys name too...
I picked a name for a girl 5 years ago, because i heard it and loved it, and too this day i still love it... so when i have a little girl her name will be Breanna Marie. I'm 14 weeks pregnant now, and my girls name hasnt faultered!!
but go with your heart and go with your gut... when you see her you will know what her name should be!
