posted 26th Oct
I'm due March first so I'll be six months next week and I lost my job last night because the store is shutting down and unemployment hasn't got back to me on if I'll be getting it or not and food stamps is harder to get then I thought.

Ya I did that today too, I should be able to get pretty good. But that all takes time. I just hate this. It's so the worst time for all of this. Who's going to hire a pregnant lady.

Honestly, you'd probably get more food stamps wise if you were working. I know you have to contribute some income to get it. When my hubby was laid off we only got $106 for a family of three. We applied after my daughter was born in August, and he had a new job and we make way under the limit for a family of four and we get $668.month. A huge difference.

We'll see I'm more worried about my unemployment...long story. May or may not work/go threw. But I'm praying it will. I live in Idaho and up here they don't really hire you if your big fat pregnant.

Im due March 1st also!   I know how you feel about losing your job...I lost mine in February of this year and it was tough looking for a job. Then sooner than you think...I got pregnant so then I still tried looking for work but now that Im almost 6 months it just wasnt worth looking for...As far as unemployment goes...It took me like a month until I got my first check but the best part of it was that every week for four weeks you will recieve a check because they had to catch up for the month that was lost but after that four weeks you will get your check every 2 weeks. It still helps. Im on my 2nd extension now. So once you get your food stamps (WIC) and your unemployment checks...just sit down and relax and just wait til your lil one arrives..   Thats what Iv'e been doing....Except I dont receive food stamps...I havent applied but I dont think I would need to since Im getting married in less than 4 weeks and I would qualify because my fiance makes too much. But seriously, just dont stress about it....take deep breaths if needed...Relax everything will be okay....Just think positive...

My husband was on unemployement from february up until 2 weeks ago. he was getting 630.00 every 2 weeks. he didn't have to do crap but go online and apply and a couple of weeks later he was receiving checks. Because of how much he was getting, we didn't qualify for foodstamps or even medicaid, but thats not saying that you wont. It never hurts to try. You should also try WIC if your not already on it. Its not much that they give you, but every little bit counts.
If someone doesnt hire you because you are pregnant, they can get in alot of trouble for that. Its just the same if they don't hire someone because of there race or religion. I know when i worked at target they hired 2 pregnant girls (one was almost due) because they were what they were looking for and didn't judge them because of there pregnancy. Good luck!

Thats true...they cant discriminate against pregnant women....but my fiance just doesnt want me to work at the moment since the holiday is near and it could cause alot of stress when it comes to customers getting angry because they cant find certain stuff...I remember those days when I worked at Best Buy...UGH! IT WAS CRAZY! I couldnt stand it....Working late nights and all...
