Self Checking for Dilation? (Just asking)

What does your cervix feel like when it is 1 cm dilated?

Can you stick one finger all the way in your cervix and feel the baby or does it just go in a little?

Is it spongy so you can push on the center but you're not really dilated?

You can't check yourself for dilation.. it can only be done by a doctor.

Don't check your own cervix.

You can check your own cervix but I would wait for a doctor to do it because you can irritate it and make it bleed etc. You can be dilated your whole pregnancy a fingertip or more if you've had babies before so its best not to so you dont worry yourself if it doesnt feel closed up.

Are you serious? Checking your cervix can cause infection and put you into labor.
You're 25 weeks.... you should hope you're not dilated.

why would you want to check at just 25 weeks.....??

Not true. You can check yourself.

OP: I wouldn't suggest it because you can put yourself into labor.

You shouldn't be doing it at that stage of pregnancy. Some midwives say it's okay when you're like 37 weeks, but don't risk doing it now.

You can PUT yourself INTO labor.

Well I guess techincally you can.. but it can cause infection and it won't be accurate.. you won't be able to tell the difference between how many cm you are..

If you check yourself later on in pregnancy the cervix will probably be way to high up to reach.
