Seeing a gyno... what will they do on first appoint.

Im making an appointment with a gyno because i have been having unprotected sex for more than a year now and am still not pregnant
And im just wondering what is it most likely they will do first.?
Im hoping i can give clomid a try because i have really long cycles last one was about 55 days  

i have no idea.. lol

They ask you if you've had sex and if you need to be tested and do a pap smear. And if you want birth control.

Lol thats ok.. i know alot of laides here have been to see fertility specialists.

With me it was only after seeing one for a year that they did anything, first it was an US then hormone testing then I was told wait another year before they'd get more "agressive" after the year my DH did a semen analisis the same day as we get the results from that I found out that I was pregnant.

Ive already had ultrasounds i bet they will do hormone testing... its a pain it takes soooooooo long because its like 35 days until i O so thats 35 days wait to check my hormones.

When I talked to my doctor the first thing he wanted to do was sperm testing then he would do hormone testing on me after that. We never did the test and that month I was pg but misscarried. I had just ovulated a few days before my appt. After that we said no testing because we could get pg we were just having some problems and I only have 1 tube so that may have something to do with it.

We both have the same name and problem...i couldnt get pregnant at all in 2008 untill i went on birth control and stopped it, i got pregnant within a month...after i was pregnant the first time my cycles were 45 days long...my gyno wouldnt give me clomid because i was young and was told that my cycles would even out..which they did it took 6 months to even out(just when i decided to stop TTC untill march..ugh..)...

So how long were you on BCP? I have been thinking about trying it but i cant help but think i could have gotten pregnant the month i was on them   and that it will take even longer.

Im going back on them in march for like 2 or 3 months since they seem to reset my body well and its the only thing my insurence will cover since fertility drugs are out of the question untill my SO can get our own insurence. it took me a month after i got off of them the first time..
