Is this too long

posted 13th Dec '06
My bf I don't know what we're having, but we've decided if it is a girl, her name will be Isabelle Rose.

We're (mostly me) having some issues with a boys name. For the longest time I've wanted Thomas Jason _____ for a boy. The blank being either the father's first or middle name. Thomas is my dad's middle name and Jason is my brother's name. The issue I'm having is that my boyfriend's name is Joseph William. To me, Thomas Jason Joseph sound kinda funny (I don't know why, it just does). And my brother's middle name is also William, so when I hear Thomas Jason William, it sounds too much like my brother's name. I've started to warm up to Thomas Jason Joseph William, but I'm afraid it's too long and sounds like we couldn't decide on a name. What does everyone else think. 3 middle names too long? I'm really not sure. I don't have a middle name, my dad has two.

well if your planing on haveing more kids why dont you just save 2 of the names and hope you have another boy. Idk i never liked the 2 middle name s thing when my kids in trouble i want to be able to say there full name fast and i 4 names is way to much for me.

Personally, I like the longer name. I toyed with having two middle names for my son, but settled on the one middle name because I liked both the meanings of the first and middle names chosen, and because the full name is well balanced numerologically.

The names you've chosen do sound nice together, and it warms my heart to see such traditional names, especially since they have a familial link.

Anyway, Thomas Jason Joseph William has my vote.

What about just naming him Thomas William, that way he has your dads name as his first name and then he will have your husbands and brothers middle name as his middle name.

Thanks very much, I like the traditional names as well. I think it's great people wanting unique names for their children (my friend's children are Rowan and Amaya), but I sometimes think names are getting far out there.
