Son's 3rd birthday

Last year for my son's birthday I started buying everthing last minute like a week before his party. Now, I'm stressing over planning it. In you alls opinion should I start buying everything? My next payday is week afternext week and my SO checks only last a day since that goes towards daycare and bills. Also, we ask him what he wanted to do for his bday and he said bowling. Good idea or bad? Is wrong of me to ask the parents to RSVP a week or 2 in advance that way I know exactly how many kids we're paying for?

Unfortunately you can ask the parents to RSVP but that doesn't mean its going to happen. The last birthday party we did for our daughter only like 3 RSVP"ed and like 14 showed up. I think bowling is an awesome way to celebrate his birthday if you can afford it.

Is three old enough for bowling? My daughter is almost 5 and I think she would just now start to enjoy that. My youngest's birthday is right after Christmas so I start buying month's in advance and build up to the party so that I don't carry all the expense at once.
