Oh, and our hospital does nothing but rooming in, so I dont have to worry about that being on there.

im just going to tell everyone to stay away and dont offer me anything. if i want something i'll ask for it, even to get up and walk around or anything. i DO NOT want people trying to pressure me into anything, and i really dont even want anyone in the room with me except SO while im laboring. oh and my OB said my hospital has ONE room with a whirlpool but i have to request it ahead of time. how the hell do you do that? you dont know when youre going to go into labor?

Well, you go into a triage room before they actually admit you, so they might be able to have that room for you once you are admitted. All of our rooms have a tub.

My husband is a wuss, he would totally just sit there and be like, hunny, do you want me to call your nurse and get your epi? Lol. So my doula will counter all of that for me. My poor hubby.

oh mine knows not to do that already. i mean seriously, everyones like "oh you'll be screaming for it blah blah blah" dont they understand that if it hurt bad enough we would ask for it ourselves? lol

I gave in because I was beyond exhausted. I was shaking so hard I fell off the bed. I just couldnt handle it and I had no one there that really knew what was going and could talk me through it. I have my doula this time. I never screamed for it though haha.

I know you cannot 'plan' your birth and I will go in with an open mind... Thanks for all the advice... from what I have read it looks like I have not forgot anything. I need to make sure to put allergies and such at the top as well.. Thanks again.

I thought at a hospital you HAVE TO HAVE an IV? Don't they MAKE you? I would prefer to go ALL NATURAL like NOTHING at all. I mean, I'll be flexible if NEEDED but, is their a way to tell them no IV if they have to by law or something? Moms that deliver else where don't have an IV?

gotcha. yep, then i would definitely write out crib notes of what you want- and include allergies you have, any complications youve had with your pregnancy, etc..... but keep it clear, if nurses cant ask you and go to look at it, they need to find the info they need ASAP, not read through the novel.... because if theres a novel, theyre not even going to try to read it.
but more importantly- can i ask why there might not be anyone there?

You can refuse anything. Even the IV. It might be hospital policy that you havve a hep lock though if you dont want an iv, so there is easy access incase of a problem. I dont like the IV, I refused one last time until I wanted some pain meds through it. This time I have to have one since I had a csection last time, it is a precaution incase I need one again.

There is a possibility my family will be out of town. And my husband gets stuck at work. :-(

Once again, people the deliver at home don't have hep lock so why would we either? I could probably refuse that too LOL!
