34 Week OB appointment

I hate how I can't ever find the right categories for my topics! Lmao, anyways. I figured this was sort of in the "knowledge" part of the preparation for my baby, so here it goes.

I moved up to 34 weeks last Friday (go me!) and my last OB appointment, we established that I would start to come in to be seen ever 2 weeks instead of 4. So this will be my first 2 week appointment (I was actually really excited to be moved up from every 4 weeks to every 2, I don't know why, made me feel like the end is getting closer  )

When do they normally start to check for dilation and effacement? Do you think they'll begin to check me on Monday, at my appointment?

PS: Shit, I need to send out baby shower invites ASAP. Fml. I'm so scared to have a baby shower, what if no one comes....

they dont start checking until 37-38 weeks

Besides - we only want thepresents anyway.  

I think it depends on your Dr. but I always just asked mine to check me to see. Plus I always having BH, so I was wishful thinking it would be moving me foward,lol. If you wanna know just ask your OB to.

I was checked at 37 weeks

Oh boo   I got excited. Lmao. it is still REALLY early for them to be checking though. I've still got 5 weeks to go.

Normally its 38 weeks.

yea i was wondering the same thing cuz im almost 29 weeks but theyve already moved me up to appts every 2 weeks which i thought was alitttle soon but i dont really know so thatll put me at almost 33 weeks when they start checkin me

Yeah but are you considered high-risk? That might be the reason.

Awwww... Lol, it seems like sooooo long ago that I was like "OMG I'M 30 WEEKS!" Now I'm coming up on 35 O.O I've heard the last 2-3 weeks are the worst

My friends that made it to full and past-term went out of their MINDS.

Meanwhile I was just glad I'd kept my baby in til almost 29 weeks.

Yea, I was 28 weeks when I started going every 2 weeks. They first checked me at 32 weeks. Maybe just my Ob?

No, I'm not. I think I'm pretty good. I know I weigh a bit much for my gestation buuuuut >.> Starting tomorrow I'm cutting sugars out of my diet along with anything besides OJ, milk, and water. So no soda or juices. And I'm going to cut back on my bread intake.

I think that sounds okay right? I might wait until Monday and just ask my OB. I've heard that dropping things *like caffeine* can send the baby into stress because it's accustomed to having those things.
