Breast feeding your preemie?

I really want to breast feed.. I was doing so good for awhile, and i'm so lucky because my son will latch on, and do a bottle, no matter what kind of nipple.. But after a few days of being home, my breasts like shrunk, and i'm only getting one ounce of milk from each breast.. I have been pumping, and letting him latch.. but i'm not getting hardly any milk.. it's depressing, especially because he's so tiny and i want him to have the best.. and i'm worried about hisimmunesystem.. Right now i'm feeding him the enfamil formula in the gold container they gave me at the hospital.. but idk if that's good enough... anyone else have this problem?!! or can anyone tell me what the BEST formula is?

Don't gage the amount of milk you have by what you're pumping. Keep your son on the breast and you will produce more. He's so small a few ozs is all he needs. There is no best formula. It's what works best for your baby.

Stop supplementing immediately if you want to breastfeed....milk is made on demand so if he isn't sucking costantly to let your breasts know u need more milk you WILL dry up

try the fenqueek or im not sure how its spelled lol, but thats suppossed to h elp your supply, and just after he latches and eats for a lil pump, that boosted my supply and now im getting tons

fenugreek...but if she stops supplementing and exclusively breastfeeds she doesn't NEED fenugreek because it's not that her supply is low, it's fine for the baby....and the baby will up the supply as needing from feeding naturally.

Thank you for the advice, i had my doctor and my pediatrician tell me that as long as i pump a lot i wont have a problem, because i was worried he wasn't getting enough from my breast since you cant really tell how much he's getting.. and i was just so scared and worried so i wanted to monitor how much he was getting, and they both said eeh don't worry as long as you pump.. But i have been putting him to my breast way more now that i read this..

Can you get a nursing scale from the hospital? That might help you feel more confident in what he's getting.
