34 weeks: Released from hospital

My fetal fibronectin came back positive yesterday, so I have a VERY high chance of having this baby in the next week...
This test result, coupled with the fact that I'm 3-4cm dilated, and have an irritated uterus prompted them to keep me overnight.

I was monitored this morning for a bit, no one knows yet if they will send me home or keep me... The head honcho of my ob's practice, Dr delcharco, will be coming by to see me later today... So I guess they will let me know then...

Ugh i hate when it does that anyways stay in there a little longer little girl.

i thought when someone is 4cm dialated they automaically keep them in the hospital?

Thank you ladies! We need all the prayers and crossed fingers we can get right now... I really want to make it a minimum of 2 more weeks... But from what I hear and what I've read on medical websites, women as far dilated as I am that get a positive result usually deliver in the next 5-7 days tops...

Even if it is 7 days it's better then today I hope she makes it another two weeks.

what i am trying to say shouldnt they keep you in the hospital for being 4cm dilated regardless of everything else you have? doesnt that mean labor has started?

I was 4cm at my 39 week appointment and I wasn't in labor they said

oh ok.. I just know another mama in the December thread was 4 cm dilated and they kept her in the hospital and started her some kinda pump....

Thats me! Lol. But I am actually 4 centimeters on the outside of my cervix and 2 on the inside... But yes, I am on a terbutaline pump until I at least reach 36 weeks so my baby has a huge chance of being term.
I always thought that once you reach 4 cm you were in the start of active labor... at least that's what I have read and heard from my perinatologist.
Veronica, they should have you on continuous monitoring and restrict you to the bed. I really am shocked that they have been playing the "wait and see game" on someone who has a chance of delivering a premature baby.
