that i have made my decision to quit nursing. She will most likely be on formula by tuesday. the only reason i say tuesday and not tomorrow is i want to consult with her pedi about her best option for formula and her 2 week visit is on monday. nursing just isn't worth all the stress and pain

he is 21 months old. i have had two hours of sleep in 24 hours. i can hear him in there waking up. my dh is working 12 hour night shifts for god knows how long due to a base exercise. its just not worth getting my nips sucked off every 2 hours. even if she wakes up that much with formula, at least i won't be in pain the whole time

As long as you are sure.
I was in your shoes, it hurt a lot, I cried whenever feeding time came around & I got shocking migraines from being dehydrated.

Just be positive you want to do this, unless you want to re-lactate later on down the road this decision is forever, you can't switch back later if you want to breastfeed again.

My son is almost 10mths old & I would give anything to go back in time & stop myself from quitting.

Have you tried nipple shields & some cream to soothe your nipples?

i bf'ed my son for a week and never regretted stopping. The only reason i have done it this long is b/c my dh wanted me too. I just can't take it anymore. She gags herself on the nipple shields and cream has done nothing

poor mommas   It sucks how little help most of us get. I'm glad I stuck it through all the pain and stress but you have a lot more to deal with than me. But you should make the choice that is right for you. BF is best but honestly I was FF and am 100% healthy.

It hurts your nipples pretty bad for the first month. After that its fine.

for me its basically been like breastfeeding glass. i won't lie. it sucks.

Just do what is best for you & her. If you can't take it anymore, then she will be feeling the stress & how uncomfortable you are. Good luck!

with DD#1 i couldn't BF at all i had no milk so when DD#3 came along i was adament i was going to try and after 3 weeks of absolute hell ... no sleep, her constantly at the boob etc my milk dried up and i had no choice other than to FF but OMFG the amount of other women who looked down on me and made me feel totally shit, like a failiure and a bad mother through no fault of my own was unbeleievable.
Now DH is begging me not to try again with this one after he saw how exhausted i was last time.

you do whats right for you and your baby and as long you are both happy thats all that matters!!! good luck
