IMO, give him more formula. If he needs it, he needs it, you know? There's a mama in here who exclusively FF her 16 month old, so I think she'd be the best one to ask!

Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out if there is some sort of limit to how much he should be having. Most the charts I find online say 32 oz?! He already eats more than that.

Of course not. Every baby is different, and every baby has different needs. Right now, there's really no such thing as "eating too much" IMO. Some say otherwise, but I think babies need what babies need to grow, whether it's 32oz or 50oz.

online normaly has averages. I would say go with your gut and if baby is full he will let you know.. He wil stop feeding and if he didn't stop soon enough he will just spit it up. You just gotta watch for the cues. I see it like this... when I go out to eat I order a plate of food.. I eat said plate til I become full and should stop.. if i do i am fine.. but on the rare occasion i don't follow my body i barf it up as soon as i get home because my stomach is overfilled... babies are no different.

plus the stuff we are giving them is disgusting. they wont eat it just to eat.

No thankfully! He was right about to put it in his mouth but I snatched it away. I honestly wanted to hit her but we were in the middle of everyone. I should have been waiting in the bushes for her old ass!

I just got told by my MIL again that I need to give my 2 month old cereal.   No thanks. I don't know how much I'll have to deal with at Thanksgiving when I see a bunch of family!

I'm so glad my LO is already on solids in time for Thanksgiving because if she wasn't, it would be family HELL.

I was JUST gonna bump this thread up myself! Glad to see someone else is having the same issues and can relate. I was just told today that since my 3 month old is currently the size of a much older baby (16/17 lbs and about 26 inches long) that I really should consider starting the solids now or at 4 months at the latest because based on his size it would supposedly be cruel to deny him that extra nutrition that he "needs." Really? REALLY??? *Shakes head in disgust* This person was NOT a doctor, NOT a nutritionist, NOT an LC, not ANYTHING that makes them remotely qualified to make that kind of statement to begin with... which probably explains why there are SO many things wrong with it.

Yeah I can't wait til christmas.. Ari will be 5 months old and I am really not looking forward to how my family is going to react to her still strictly bfing. I can't wait...
