I'm sorry to burst YOUR bubble, but infants don't NEED solids for the first 12 months of life, formula fed or breastfed

And what you posted is an online parenting forum area. Look into the AAP's declaration on breastfeeding: it say EXCLUSIVELY breastfed for 6 months. Either the AAP contradicts itself or your source is incorrect.

THANK YOU Taiter Tot's Mama for breaking down the AAP's info! Getting the info here was quicker than picking through all the jargon on the AAP's site to get the facts. I read some of the comments and was really annoyed by a particular person who just seamed to want to start shit with you or anybody. I friggin hate people like that. Actually I believe you are wrong. Babies dont actually need anything other then formula or BM untill 12 months and sometimes even longer. My 16 month old is still only on formula and hes doing just fine with it.

I didn't give out ANY personal advice in this thread- I gave the advice of MY pediatrician- thx. I am a nurse but have been out of the field since 2002. I still keep up my continnuing education and my licenses in 2 states. I never claim to know everything about ANY medical condition as NO nurse can know all of it.
