Congrats LexiPerez!!

Member LexiPerez had her babies today at about 730am!!!! They are small and born at 35 weeks and in the NICU. I dont know if they have anything wrong or just small. Please keep them in their prayers!!!! I love you Lexi!!!!! XOXOXO

Was she not on here last night venting about her doctor saying the babies had to come now because she had gd and they were huge and she could not carry then past 36 weeks. He wanted to wait for a few more weeks to let the lungs get bigger. Im sorry to hear the babies are in the nicu and I am hoping they came on their own.

weird...but when she was talking about the amnio and stuff the other day, I just knew she was going to have them soon.

They were both over five pounds, probably they just had low blood sugar and maybe needed a little help breathing because they were early and she had GD. That's what I hope anyway  

Yeah, I don't think she intentionally induced labor. That would be a stupid thing to do at 35w!

thanks everyone. I will postmy labor story soon, it was very dramatic and for those who dont know me ...i would never induce labor. they came all on their own. But thank you for being concerned your prayers have all helped

Ok here it goes.
For those of you who didnt know I was on Procardia 20 mg every four hours. I took it religiously. Dont get me wrong I was at my whitz end with the pregnancy but I would never put my babies life in danger. I have had contractions since 23 weeks and they have progressively gotten worse. But I had gotten used to them. Thursday night they were becoming unbareable. At 12:45am Friday morning the contractions woke me up out of a dead sleep. I waited for a while and woke up my hubby and daughter. We headed to the hospital. I took another dose of procardia with hopes to ease the contractions. We arrived at the hospital at 2:00am and the contractions were every three minutes apart hitting the 130's on the monitors. It was so painful. Whenthey checked me I was still at 1cm. I have been at 1cm since July 31st. The monitored me for 2 hours and gave me trebutaline and IV fluids. Nothing worked I kept contracting. My doctor came to check on me at 5:30am and said although I was not dialating the contractions would not stop and it was not good for the babies. Baby A was breech and Baby B was laying sideways. He orded an immediate c-section. Reality set in and I got real scared. We had our three year old daughter with us, so I called my neighbor to get her until my mother arrived from Yucaipa.
At 7:00am I was in the operating room, being preped for my spinal. I had an epidural with my first daughter but the spinal hurt. Now here is where the story gets interesting and scary. The anistigioligist and his supervisor were there and gave me instructions to inform them when both my legs were numb so they could lie me down. I did and when my head hit the table I felt so weird. I informed the anistigioligist that something felt wrong, it felt like I could not breath and a heavy weight on my chest. He seemed worried and asked me to wiggle my fingers. I COULDN'T!! He called the supervisor over. I then told him I heard buzzing in my ears and I started seeing stars. I heard a lot of commotion, yelling for efedrine then everything went black. I couldn't talk, move or see anything. I could hear everything! I heard the anistigioligist yell "she's crashing, her BP is 55/15 and heart rate is irrati, Im going to start bagging her." I then heard my OB order them to give me "as many efedrine shots as needed." After the third shot he said he was going to take the babies out and to bring in my hubby for support. I was able to open my eyes and see my hubby sit next to my head. He look so worried and scarred, he asked me if I wa s ok. I still couldnt talk. I heard baby A cry then baby b cry. I was able to tell my hubby to go to the babies. Once he went with the babies, I passed out again. The doctor ordered another drug to try to bring me back, I dont remember what it was called, but it worked but made my face real itchy. I lost 750 (cc's?) of blood. They started IV potosin drip to make my uterus contract. They took me to the recovery room where my hubby and babies were. I held my son and then they took him to the nicu because he was breathing fast. I dont remember much after that. The next thing I do remember is being wheeled into my postpardim room with my daughter on my chest and my hubby by my side.
I gave birth at 35 weeks and 4 days into my pregnany. I had gestational diabetes, was on bedrest since 17 weeks and diagnosed with preterm labor at 23 weeks. I gained a total of 41 lbs.
My son was born at 7:36am October 23, 2009 he weighed5 lbs 8 oz and was 19 incheslong.
My daughter was born at 7:37 am October 23, 2009 she weighed 5 lbs 5 oz and was 17 inches long.
My daughter was released from the hospital with me three days aftertheir birth. My son isstill in the NICU but expected to come home tomorrow October 28th.

Scary stuff! I'm glad you're ok and that the babies are ok too, congrats!
