anal fistula

yesterday I noticed a boil on my sons butt so I called his pedi this morning and they were able to get me in at 1pm. well turns out that it wasnt just a boil but anal fistula and I have to take him to a hospital in Evansville, IN to have some type of surgery done Monday morning. What should I expect to happen when I bring him into thehospital and what type of surgery might they be dong? They popped the boil and when they did alot of blood and poop came out and they had to squeeze it to get all the infection out. They gave me some ointment to put on the area and some antibotics to give him for his cold and for any infection he has from the fistula to come out in his poop. I am so upset and I dont know what to do..   ugh someone pleae give me some advice!!

Hello, I just read your post about your son having an anal fistula. My son too has one, and is not even 3 months old. You mentioned that he was having some sort of surgery done, what exactly did they end up doing? My son has an appointment with a surgeon tomorrow and I am guessing that they will make a decision on where to go from here.

I know EXACTLY how you feel, I am a nervous wreck about the whole thing.

oh wow surgery that soon? I have an appointment on the 12th to see a plastic surgeon or another Pedi in Evansville, IN not really sure what's going to happen but I am tired of waiting around so I am going to call and get him in sooner.
