I know this has probably already been discussed. But seeing as you guys are trying to get back on topic, here I go.
I am very weary of this vaccination because I know people do get sick from the seasonal, with that, I am wondering the arguements for and against the vaccine before I make a descision.
Also, I am wondering if me and my husband should get the vaccine, we are in the age demographic, or should it just be my baby and I?

My pedi said people who get sick from the seasonal vaccine most likely get sick from going to the doctors office not the actual vaccine and highly reccomended Miles and Hubby to get it. We didn't need h1n1 since we've had it but aside from his leg being sore the seasonal didn't do anything to my 6 month old and my hubby had the nasal mist which is a live vaccine and it didn't phase him at all. Considering the h1n1 vax is the same as a seasonal flu vax but with a different flu strand in it I'd say it would be the same.

I got slightly sick off both vaxes. But it wasn't anything horrible, it was just a "ugh i feel a little nauseous."

Like Cap'n Chit Chat's Momma said, those who get sick were more than likely already infected before they got the vaccine. It also takes 2 weeks effect.

Good luck with your decision.

I got the nasal spray, and wouldn't have been surprised to have felt a little sick (since it's a live virus), but6 days later, I've felt fine the whole time.

Last year I got the shot, no problems, butthe year beforeI got the shot and had a sore arm for2 days.

Even though it is a "live" virus, there is no way it could thrive in your body.
People get scared when they hear that it is "live" but it's comforting to understand the process.
What they do is weaken the virus and adapt the virus so that it can only live in cold conditions. This is called a "cold-adapted virus." So, as soon as the virus enters your warm body, there is no way it can survive, let alone thrive.

Sorry I don't have a link, I'm trying to find the article I read this from.

The nurse told me that the h1n1 didn't hurt as much. and it didn't odd right? lol. but afterwards it was sore as a bitch.

I know, I just read somewhere that you might feel a little sick from it.

From the CDC:
The viruses are attenuated (weakened) and cannot cause flu illness. The weakened viruses are cold-adapted, which means they are designed to only cause infection at the cooler temperatures found within the nose. The viruses cannot infect the lungs or other areas where warmer temperatures exist. Some children and young adults 2-17 years of age have reported experiencing mild reactions after receiving nasal spray flu vaccine, including runny nose, nasal congestion or cough, chills, tiredness/weakness, sore throat and headache. Some adults 18-49 years of age have reported runny nose or nasal congestion, cough, chills, tiredness/weakness, sore throat and headache. These side effects are mild and short-lasting, especially when compared to symptoms of influenza infection.
