overwhelmed! LONG *vent*

First... I am a HORRIBLE speller, so I am SORRY for all the misspellined words!

Ok... i have a 9 year old daughter and she has always suffered from many anger problems even as a baby... At age 4 she got into a bunch of other stuff, like crying ALT, hiding, ect... At age 7 she started starving herself and being obsessed with her weight... she has alreadyrepeated a grade at school and I am affraid she is headed that way again. I have been trying for years to get help with all of this and Dr's /teachers/ and most others always think I am blowing all this out of proportion! I know my daughter better than anyone and I would NEVER make any of this up! I do not WANT things to be wrong, they just are!
Anyway -
So I went on my own to a place to get some testing done... .all the places we had went before were not much help!
I took her to The Center For Phycological Development. They had My husband and I fill out a booklet on all the things going on with Audri... They also had her teacher fill one out. Then we had a meeting with the Dr. Audri and I... She spent about an hour and a half talkig with us, getting info, and explaining some things to us. Then a few weeks later we had a testingday. My DD spent 8 hours testing. They did Nourological testing to decide what was going on.
I went yesterday to get the results...
They are diagnosing my daughter as ADHD, Severe Anxity disorder, a learning disability called phonical learning disability, there are a few others as well... but I dont get the full report for another week!
I am just so overwhelmed! I am glad to finally know something so I can properly help her, but this just seems like A LOT!
Anyone have children with any of the same problems? I would love to hear how you worked on things!

Aww im sorry to hear that momma....it's sad that doctors and teachers cant diagnose it right away. Usually at the age of 9 and 10 is when they do. I hope u get proper medication and everything turns out good for u and your family!

Thak you. I am hoping we can find anything to help her! I feel so bad as a mother because i can't change these things myself.

my nephew has bad anger problems and pretty much the same things as ur daughter.. hes also 9 and was diagnosed with ADHD awhile ago.. he now takes concerta (spelling?) and it calms him down so much and acts so much better when he takes it but when my sis forgets to give him his pill, you can see a HUGE difference in the way he acts.. gets very irritated easily and mad and very very hyper

The strange thing is... my daughter is not hyper at all! I am very confused as to why she is classed ADHD and not just ADD. She doese get agrevated and mad VERY easy, but does not have fits, or hypernes. Her agrevation comes out in other ways... like crying and yelling to herself in her room.

hmm.. thats different. he used to do weird OCD like things too. like he would just randomly twitch his eyes for awhile and then stopped. then do this yelling thing when he was in his room then that stopped then he did this weird movement thing with is jaw then stopped that too.. it was very weird. hopefully medication works for you! GL!
