gestational diabetes in third trimester

Hi ladies I was wondering if anyone has been told to have gestational diabetes this is my second pregnancy and I was told that I have gestational diabetes in my third trimester.Has anyone delivered a baby when diagnosed with gestational diabetes if so was your baby healthy ?I am concerned I am not to aware of the risk to the baby ?

This is when they test for it, so 99% of the people diagnosed, are diagnosed in thier 3rd trimester. Most of the time, they like to induce you early because it can cause the baby to weigh more then a baby when the mother doesnt have GD.

My daughter was larger than most but was in good health. She was induced due to gestational diabetes and preeclampsia. She was 7 lbs 4 oz at 36 weeks and had jaundice.

I was diagnosed with GD... My daughter was born perfectly healthy! Just make sure you stay on the diet they give you, sticking to proportions and keeping your blood sugar levels where they are supposed to be... as long as you stick to your diet and do some exercise like walking.. you and your baby will be perfectly healthy!  

its fine as long as they catch it, treat it, and monitor the weight of your baby. my fiance's sister was born 14lbs because her mom didn't take care of herself and they didn't watch the babys growth.

That is true. i also was not diagnosed until the day before my emergency induction.

welcome! i remember I was super scared and nervous when I got diagnosed. I was like crying because I was scared I wasn't going to be able to stick to my diet and my baby was going to be born unhealthy.. but once i got my glucometer and talked to the NP about the diet i felt much better!

she was 7lbs 2 oz at 39 weeks. i wasnt induced. went into labor naturally
