SIDS

does anyone else worry about this?...i dunno..im more worried about sids happening to my daughter, than I was with my son...it scares me because I am reading all these stories about sids....im going insane...i will stand over her for an hour just watching her breath.......im scared

Stop ready SID's stories. They will only make it worse!!! I was terrified of it with my daughter, and I am sure I will be just as worried this go around.

I wasnt equally worried with all three of mine. With my son it barely crossed my mind, with my oldest daughter I was more worried, with my youngest I freak out still and she's pretty much in the safe zone (she'll be 8 months old in a couple weeks).

I worried about that with both my children and i am sure if i do have any more i will worry as well.

I was worried about it with my son when he was a newborn.. not so much anymore.
Stop reading the stories though, it just makes it worse, trust me.

I worried more with my first, then with Aubrey. IDK why. Maybe because I did a report for school and scared me shitless.

I don't. I avoid any stories on SIDS. I'd be a nervous wreck if I did.

My cousin lost her little boy when I was pregnant with my daughter so I was really worried. I bought a monitor to go under her bed when she slept and tested it just to make sure it would work. Im still paranoid and she is going on 2, I dont use the monitor anymore but I think im this way just because of the family incident.

My son is 2 and I still go in his room every night before I go to bed. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and go in to check his breathing.

yeah I can't read about it...it makes me a nervous wreck...my kids did get the AngelCare monitor with the alarm on it...it eased my mind sooooooo much....still does..... if there is no movement for like 10-15 seconds an alarm will go off....so if it doesn't feel them breathing...it lets you know, maybe think about something like that!! I don't worry about it with my son anymore, but I do with my youngest one!!

I know how you feel, I was/am obsessed with fear of SIDS. It's true that you should not read the SIDS stories (of course I do).
I have an AngelCare Monitor, run a fan all night, etc.....
My OB diagnosed me with GAD and gave me meds. It has helped a bit, but of course I am just a neurotic person.

I think i'm gonna be just like you b/c i'm so worried about her arriving healthy now and the next thing on my mind is sids and constamly buying products that help prevent sids and making her room safe

Yes, i am pretty worried about the same thing. my daughter is not quite 4 months yet and i am constantly going into her room and putting my finger by her nose to make sure shes breathing. Sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night and run into her room to make sure shes ok, and of course she always is. my husband thinks im ridiculous, but thats a big worry of mine. all you can do is have faith.......
