I'm sorry! I was able to have my son at home, but I was almost transferred due to him being posterior up until the end. I hope everything works out! you can still have a drug free birth, you just have to be that much more strong so they don't talk you into getting drugs!   Best of luck!

^Agrees.......Sorry you couldn't have a home birth. I sort of wish I could of too but I didn't even really know much about them at the time I had my son, I don't think I would of been able too anyway because I was consider high risk.

I'm so sorry this happened. Most of us had our plans for labour ruined... but seriously, it won't matter as much once your little one is in your arms. I wanted to have a home birth, which is normal in Guatemala anyways... ended up needing a C-Section a month early! It was awful. And though I still wish I could have had at least a natural birth, it really doesn't matter to me so much anymore.

When your baby is born, that's all that is going to matter.

same happened to me, I wanted a lovely water birth and got a c-section instead
But it was for the best without medical intervention both me and my LO would have died.

I wanted to have a total of 6 children or 4 at the very least, and then had a c-section with my first. I hate that you have to always have c-sections. I've read in many places that the c-sections for later children aren't always needed, maybe you can do some research since you live in the USA and find someone who will work with you into having a natural birth?

In Guatemala, after 3 c-sections they tie your tubes

I feel your pain. I planned a home birth (and had rented a tub though I wasn't set on giving birth in the water, I wanted it as an option) and I developed high blood pressure too. Actually I was positive for strep B and had decided to go to the hospital the day the my high blood pressure got too high (37 weeks and 2 days).

I ended up having an amazing birth experience, I can't imagine it being any better then it was. I was induced (two rounds of Cervadil, I went home after being monitored each time and after the second round was removed, and given some pitocin). My midwife used a wireless monitoring system (she wanted to monitor the baby's heartbeat the whole time). I spent the time in the hosptial on an exercise ball watching Blue Planet (on the computer, they wouldn't turn on the TV until the afternoon, after I had given birth  ), and in the tub.

You may still be able to having a waterbirth. My midwives do waterbirths at the hosptial.
