any premie moms getting the h1n1 shot for their baby?

I just got a call saying that my son was high risk for it and is able to recieve a h1n1 shot.....my husband said he really wanted him to get one, but I told him I didnt want it, bc my premie son hasnt ever even got a cold since being out of the hospital, and we never get out of the house anyways and definetely wont be once it gets colder, so since I dont know much about the h1n1 shot, Ithink at this point its more risky for him to get the shot then to not. Im usually not one against vaccines, I hope I am making the right decision.

Syrus won't be getting it. I don't trust live vaccines at all. My grandma got a live flu vaccine one year and the next day woke up with the flu. It was the only year she got the flu and the only year she got the vaccine. PLUS my son has lung problems already and it's not worth the risk.

I thought kids 6+ months can get it.

My son is 9 months old and never been sick before. He was diagnosed with H1N1 and pneumonia on Sat. I wasent going to get the vaccine either.

none of my kids will be gettin it ..they have asthma and there hasnt been must testing done on this virus..." and their dr told me shes not recommending it to any of her patients

It came out Oct. 8. I think and it's way too new for me to try. The swine flu kills less than 1% of it's "victims". More people die from AIDS and people don't use condoms but they will put a face mask on for a flu that kill less than 1%. Goes to show how much the media hypes shit up!

We are military and right now they are just given the vaccine to people that are high risk because they dont have enough.

Oh.. hmm i dunno i think the shot is too new and they are just trying to test it on us still. My son will not be getting it..
But if shes in day care and around other kids maybe it would be better??

The doctor at the ER tried to pressure me into getting Syrus vaccinated because of his past health issues, but I just don't see how the risks out ways the benefits in his case. They said since he's allergic to Latex he might not react well to the vaccine, but they still think he should get it, just to be safe.

There's so much controversy about this shot, but it's the same thing as a flu shot just a different strand. I went to the pedi today for Dylan's 5 year checkup and spoke to the doc about it. She has 3 children herself, one being autistic. She highly recommends it and said all the hype is all false information. I love her as a doc and respect her opinion. My son was in the hospital in April and he never usually gets sick. It was a big ordeal and his immunity is low. Children getting swine flu are ending up with pneumonia and respiratory problems, which if not caught soon enough they are ending up in the hospital. After speaking to her, both of my boys got the shot. Just a little insight on it. I know my pedi wouldn't tell me to get something she wouldn't give to her own children.

My kiddos will NOT be getting the vaccine. My pedi said he is on the fence b/c it is so new. I am just afraid to put something that new into my child's body. If it had been tested on children instead of just adults I MIGHT think about it.
