Is it appropriate?

Is it appropriate to put on my sons first birthday invitation that he has a "wish list" at Toys R Us? I don't want to offend any of the family, but they often choose unapproriate toys (age wise) for my son.

I don't think so, people are bound to ask you what to get him anyways.

I think it'd be a good idea to include it!

no,because why have a bunch of toys you can use just sitting around forever.

Although I wouldn't make a registry for a first birthday, I don't think it's inappropriate to do so -- more and more people are doing it lately. It may be a good idea if they buy for the wrong age group...

I like the special gifts that people pick out for birthdays -- the ones that are really from them with no direction. To me, those are the best kind.

My MIL is the worst offender, she always buys my son toys that have small parts, etc that he is way to young for.

Maybe I'll just mention if anyone wants ideas than they can look?

Maybe put something like "If anyone needs ideas on what to get, check out _____!"
